So over the past couple of days some changes have been slowly going into the site. 1st off the new version of the uploader is in beta. Very few issues have been reported so far. Those that have been reported have been addressed. We took the uploader out of the pop up because some have said they only received a close button upon opening. So, we added a button on the front page so users can go directly to the new uploader.
The new uploader offers a more convenient way to upload than the prior version. For instance, with the new version you now browse for your file first. Once you select your file it begins uploading. While its uploading you can enter your details. Once your done, hit continue, and if your file has finished uploading your redirected to the song page almost instantly.
We have also made changes to the dashboard in anticipation of some upcoming features. The dashboard is now broken down into tabs to give you more control over your stats, music and more. This was to help organize the dashboard because we have some exciting new features in he works.

You can place #hashtags in Twiturm song descriptions to add more meta-data to your music. Soon we will be adding a tag cloud to our site that will be based of of #hashtags. You can currently search #hashtags by using the following url.
http://twiturm.com/tag/your-hash-tag of course replacing your-hash-tag with your actual hashtag with out the “#”.
After a few weeks (wifey would probably say a month) version 2 has been launched. If you haven’t already noticed, Twiturm version 2 was launched a few days ago. It seems like most people really like the new layout and features. Twiturm has only been up and running since Jan of this year (09) and it’s already on version 2. Why? Because it needed it.
The new version gives your followers an easier way to access more of your music by placing links to your songs on the same page they hear your music on. This results in more possible plays for you. More exposure for you. That’s why you use the service right? So people can hear your creations. Keep doing what you do.
With that being said the site is really growing at a fast pace. More and more users everyday. Which means more music, more plays and more costs. This is a self funded site so if you find the service useful , go ahead and donate to help keep the site free. I would love to keep the service free and unlimited and I hope I can keep it that way for a long time to come.
I been hard at work on version 2 for yall. A lot more features to help people find more of your music. Some of the features are a new front page showcasing more users. Like most popular, most plays all updated all day and night constantly. New profiles where listeners can easily click more of your songs. A dashboard so you can get a breakdown of how people see you. A new uploader with progress and more. A preview below.
So @souljaboytellem uploaded a song with his verse and the hook plus 2 open verses for people to record their verses to. The prize? I dont know lol. But people are using the site like crazy.
On another note the sites traffic has went up 200%. I have been working on getting the site to run as optimized as possible. I have some changes to make so the site runs smoothly even when twitter is down which is the case this morning. Once twitter comes back up the site should be back at 100%
The site was down over the july 4th weekend. This was due to copyright infringment. We as well as our host were sent a cease and desist letter from Atlantic Records over a T.I. song.
Because of this, the site will undergo a few changes. For one a “Flag” button to flag a track as violating a copyright. Those with 3 strikes will be banned from the site. This site was created to host music that you create, not as a place to host a new T.I. song you want to act like your the first with it.
Stricter policies and more policing will be going on for those that upload works they do not own the copyright for.
I’ve been putting this off for awhile, I finally decided to add a blog. I’ll use this to keep track of all thing Twiturm related and maybe some more. So for now let me add a recap of the Twiturm timeline.

Unveiled a new layout and design for Twiturm. This one will be permanent for some time. Also release a beta of our API for those developing applications that may want to hook into. Added a “Share” button to the top of all listen and profile pages.
April 14, 2009 Milestone today. Since launching #twiturm on 1/1/09 we hit 1000 users today. That’s 1200+ songs posted & 32,000+ plays. We’re growing!
